Our Story

Founded in 2016 by an experienced hand in the auto repair industry, Cousins Automotive began its journey as a mobile auto repair business. After garnering a wealth of experience spanning 13 years, the decision was made to shift from a mobile model and firmly plant our roots in a brick-and-mortar establishment. In 2018, we took a momentous step by acquiring the business of Butch’s Auto Service, turning it into the Cousins Automotive shop that the Ipswich community has come to know and trust. In 2024 Nate Acquired Martel’s Automotive in ipswich to further expand Cousins Automotive’s capacity to further help the community in times of need with their vehicles.

Dana, our seasoned technician, brings over three decades of auto repair wisdom to the table. With 15 years honed specifically on European vehicles, his skill set is both deep and broad. Away from the grease and gears, Dana finds solace in fishing with his kids and lending a helping hand whenever he can.

Analise wears the hat of our service advisor. She’s channeled her 10 years of sales prowess into the auto repair realm for the past three years. Committed to excellence, she regularly updates her training to offer the best advice and service. Energetic, driven, and always eager to learn, Ana’s spirit continually drives our mission forward.

The Man Behind The Mission

Our founder, Nate Cousins, foray into the auto repair world began in high school, with a stubborn 1988 Chevy pickup. Eager to decipher its quirks, he dived into diesel mechanics and auto repair at Whittier Vocational Technical High School. This initial spark led him to UTI for automotive excellence, from where he graduated in 2007. Over the years, Nate honed his skills across various dealerships and independent shops, eventually earning his coveted ASE certifications.

In his moments of respite, Nate finds joy in the embrace of nature, be it camping trips with his wife and two sons, serene bike rides, or the thrill of motorcycle rides. The wind rushing past him on these rides isn’t just a sensation; it’s freedom.

Nate’s family, comprised of his supportive wife of seven years and two delightful sons, aged 10 and 1, remains his anchor. Whether it’s indulging in video games, enjoying innocent play, or simply sharing a laugh, they’re the essence of his life’s joy.
